Overview

London Borough of Islington have been using Concerto for circa 10 years, the system is well established and well used within the council.

During the time that the system has been in place, there has been no common approach to keeping property data up to date. OCG were appointed to aid with Phase 1 of the project by carrying out a GAP analysis of the data in the system, prepare data load templates to update records with missing information and realign the property structure within Concerto.

The Challenge

Phase 1 was initially a 6 month project, however this was extended due to the amount of restructuring involved regarding the property hierarchy and the investigations carried out to ensure the property information was current and correct. This was crucial to ensuring the Council has a definitive property list, all of which sat at the correct level within the structure.

Project Objectives

To establish a definitive property list where all the properties sat at the correct level, to archive properties where the council no longer had an interest and populate missing Property and Estates data, to bring the system up-to-date

The results

Islington Council now have an up-to-date property system. Sites and Blocks sit with the correct level of the property structure. Lease information has been coded and linked through to tenant information, and missing details such as Rent Review have been loaded. Giving the Council a better understanding of their corporate estate. Additional modules are being implemented at Islington, including Projects, Asbestos, Case Management, Condition Survey and Education.

“Waltham Forest instructed OCG to carry out a review of our Facilities Management service.  The team were professional, and engaged with our staff and stakeholders in a manner that meant everyone felt comfortable and at ease in discussing what works well and not so well.  OCG provided regular project updates, had a flexible approach and a delivered a detailed report with improvement opportunities that everyone could understand and follow.  We were very happy with the outcome and look forward to working with the team again in the future”.
